 Are you interested in dressing professionally or dressing for success?  Whether you would like to make a good impression at work, at a job interview, look professional and successful for an important business meeting, or just because, you may soon start shopping for new clothes.  Unfortunately, when it comes to dressing professionally and dressing for success, it is easy to get carried away.  This can cause difficulties if you are on a budget.

If you are looking to dress for success, but you do not want to have to spend a large amount of money doing so, you will want to take the time to examine your local thrift stores.  Thrift stores often have a large selection of career clothes. These career clothes can also often double as elegant or formal wear.  When shopping for dress for success clothes at your local thrift stores, you will just want to thoroughly examine all clothing pieces before you purchase them. Be on the lookout for items that are missing buttons, or ones that have stains.  You may also want to see if your local stores have any sales, as many thrift stores are known for having heavy sale or discount days.

You can also shop for dress for success clothes by examining specialty used clothing stores. These stores are similar to thrift stores, but you are often presented with a larger product selection, as well as clothes that are in better condition.  These specialty stores are nice, but they can sometimes be difficult to come by. What you may want to do is examine your local newspapers, as many people hosting yard sales will advertise their sales, as well as outline a few of the items that they have available for sale.  Another great method that I have recently discovered is finding a Facebook group that only discusses yard sale, or items for barter or sale at a fraction of the retail price.  I have yet to utilize this method but there are consistent posts daily in the several groups I am a member of and each post is someone selling absolutely anything.  This method is convenient because if you have a smartphone you can do some browsing on your breaks or downtime and also from the comfort of your own home.  It does not involve any traveling from store to store wasting time and gas and possibly building frustration.  Join several of these groups specific to your town, city or county and check them often and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised with what you will find.

If you are looking for new clothing, as opposed to used clothing, you will want to turn to the internet. The internet is a great way to shop for dress for success clothes, as you have a number of different options. For starters, you will want to focus on traditional clothing retailers or those that have a focus on clothes designed for employment and or formal events.  Be on the lookout for any sales or sections where discontinued items are listed, as many are offered at reduced prices. This approach can also be used to shop for new clothing locally.  One site that I have had a lot of success with is No More Rack.  They sell low to upper-mid range quality products of all types for pennies on the dollar.  When I was earning a substantial income I literally made dozens of purchases from this place.  Anything from a couple tablets to a few nice dress shirts, two nice watches, a pair of sunglasses, I mean I can not even list everything I bought off of that site.  But you have to be on the ball to get the best quality and selection because every morning, I believe at 8am EST they unveil their new stock for the day.  Early risers reap great benefits by scoring good quality merchandise for a fraction of the retail price.  Give it a shot.  The only downside I can see is that you might turn into a hoarder.  But, you win some you lose some you know.

In keeping with using the internet to help you dress for success, you may want to examine online auction websites, such as eBay or QuiBids.  These websites are nice, as you often have a large selection of products to choose from. You can also find dress for success clothes being sold in both new and used conditions.  If you plan to use online auction websites, it is advised that you closely read all product descriptions, examine pictures, as well as keep a close eye on shopping costs. In some instances, you may find yourself paying more for shipping than the clothes themselves.  It is also important to read up on the reviews that past customers have left regarding the merchant selling your item.  You will get a great idea of the quality of service and the reliability of shipping time from these reviews.The above mentioned ways are just a few of the many ways that you can go about dressing for success while sticking to a budget.  Although you do have a number of other options, such as borrowing clothes from friends or family members, the above mentioned approaches are a few of the most common and successful approaches taken.  To find the best deals, I would say that just like when you are car shopping, that you regularly keep your eyes and ears open.  One last piece of advice I suggest is that you set a firm budget of the total amount you can spend before you ever go shopping and then stick firm to that budget.  I know it sounds like common sense, but I also know that I very rarely actually make the effort to do it.  I hope this gave you an idea or at the very least kept you interested today.  Take care and have a great day.

Buried dreams, forgotten goals, and underdeveloped potentials will be things of the past if you begin to set your life goals.

Goal setting is a powerful process that allows you to have greater control over your future. Goal setting skills can be applied to everything you do.

Setting life goals is like having a map to show you where you want to go and avoid getting lost in the process. With you goals in tact, you can drive straight to your preferred destination without any wasted time or wrong turns.

Start your goal setting with what you want to be, achieve and have in your lifetime. Then work your way through a series of lower level plans up to the things you will have to do on an everyday basis. By making this structure of your plans, you can be able to break the biggest plan you have into a number of smaller daily tasks to reach it.

If it is hard for you to set life goals, books, programs, seminars and trainings and coaches are available to help you achieve your desired plans. But it is normally easy to set life goals. It can be compared to dreaming and basically, putting it onto paper. Setting life goals is easy - making them real is the challenging part.

After setting your life goals, make a serious pact to follow it. Keep the process going with the same fervor as you had when you started it. You must refer to your life goals periodically so you can modify your short term goals according to your changing priorities and experiences, and yet continue on towards your larger plans.

- Prioritize. Give each of your objectives priority. You will have many goals to achieve but prioritizing will help you from feeling overwhelmed by the things you must do in a period of time.

In the process of following your life goals, create a support system. This is a critical step. You will need to support yourself to keep your focus on your goals. Failing to get support may be the single reason why goals fail.  

Make sure to select goals that are really of great importance to you. Make sure to choose goals that are in agreement to your values.  Finally, give them a plan and a support system to help them become reality. You must be the one to decide what to pursue and what direction you want to aim in life.

The Importance of Having a Mentor

No matter how good you are at your craft, there really is nothing like being able to have a mentor.  Most business owners and successful online entrepreneurs will admit that a mentor was a big part of their success.

A lot of people feel like they can do everything on their own and this is something that can lead to a lot of problems.

If you are serious about succeeding in life, you will need to know the importance of having a mentor.  There really is nothing like having someone tell you that what you are currently doing is wrong. A lot of people go through life without having an idea as to what they are doing and this is why it's important to have someone help to guide you.

Having a mentor will take you through the steps and let you know if you are making a mistake at the current time or if you have made some in the past.  A mentor is someone that has more experience in the particular field you are looking for help in, and they have to be someone that you can trust.

Remember it is easy to commit mistakes that without ever knowing about having committed them.  Having a mentor will pay for itself in routine fashion. For each individual’s situation, you need to find the right mentor for your current life’s ambitions or goals.

In order to succeed, in life as well as business, you will need to make sure that you find the right mentor. However, finding one can be one of the toughest things that we are ever made to do.  Though you might associate a "mentor" as someone that is older than you, a good idea is to simply just concentrate on their experience levels and knowledge of your chosen field.  The person does not need to be older but someone that can truly guide you the right way. Whether it is your boss, teacher, coach or even a family member, it is important that you choose one correctly.

If you are serious about succeeding and being able to avoid mistakes with your business or life in general, it is crucial that you find the best mentor possible.

I want to wish you all the best of luck during your own mentor searches.  I am currently on a search for a new mentor myself.  I had one for my past career pursuit and it paid off beyond enormously.  It was so useful that I was later able to open a new business in the household goods moving industry and operate successfully for almost five years. 

In my new pursuit of internet marketing and social media development I am currently searching for a mentor.  I hope to run into one soon enough though so that they can help me get my feet on the ground and really take off with tremendous effect once I have their individual experiences and strategies to help instruct me.  Take care of yourself and each other, have a great day.

A Leader Should Be Willing to Accept Responsibility

Who would forget the ever-famous line of Peter Parker’s grandfather, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The society expects Spiderman, a comic book, TV, and movie superhero, to be responsible for saving his town, or even the world, in some instances, from evil because he has super powers.

From all the episodes he appeared in, he never let us down. With the power he possesses, he makes sure to be responsible in using it for the good of the people around him.

Leadership is not at all different from being superheroes. Yes, you may not have super powers like Superman and Spiderman, but you have the authority to lead other people towards success. This is so much greater and stronger since it is a power that can be used by real people in this real world.

Hence, being a leader requires great sense of responsibility, the second quality a successful leader should attain.

The power to lead your people towards aiming your vision comes with responsibilities like making sure they are on the right direction, being aware of each and everyone’s tasks and mistakes, and putting them back on the right track when they get lost.

Who said it is easy to be a leader? Well, it is not…It comes with tons of responsibilities. True leaders are willing to accept them all.

There are instances where sometimes it makes us feel better to blame somebody or something else when something goes wrong in a task. However, this should not be practiced, especially by a good leader!

Here we see the Leader of the Pack.

A leader should take full responsibility of a task - not just before he accepts to take it, but also after it has been accomplished. As much as he is responsible for his team’s success, he should also be responsible for any failure. He represents the whole team so whatever happens to it, he is the one responsible.

Making excuses and blaming something or someone else for failed jobs is not a quality of a good leader. What he should do, instead, is to accept the fact that something went wrong with the organization, even if it is not his fault. It is normal to make mistakes. In fact, mistakes are opportunities to learn something better. As a leader, he must ensure that the team members learn from these mistakes and that these errors will not be repeated next time.

You may not have full control over other people and are not expected to have full control over their actions, but you have full control of your own reactions. Knowing what to do over unexpected and unpredictable situations will make you responsible, hence giving you the feeling of power.

32 Words That Can Change Your Life

We all have ways of testing opportunities that enter our lives.  Some of us just dive right in based on feeling, others walk straight into what they know is right by a gut feeling or intuition.  And if it’s not gut feelings or emotions that are the tests of opportunities, it is the logical mind persuading us to ignore those feelings and emotions and test it with our reality of reason.

Most of us do not have a predetermined strategy for testing opportunities, or even more generally to test the actions we take and the choices we make in our lives.

There is an easier way to determine if our choices we make and the opportunities we receive ‘pass the test’.  This simple 32 word statement of business ethics was first created in the 1930s and used to turn around a failing company.  These four questions were applied by each employee to each and to every minute detail of the company’s workings.  This little list of four questions from Rotary International, a humanitarian business organization, is the most widely printed, translated and reproduced piece of business ethics today:

“Of the things we say, think or do:
1.    Is it the TRUTH?
2.    Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3.    Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4.    Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

If we built businesses and our lives based on these very simple 4 questions we would be coming from a place completely the opposite of the competitive mind and the lack mentality.  As you can see, these questions prompt you to choose what is true, fair, and good, making choices that can build friendships and goodwill.  It helps us to see how the choices we make can be beneficial to all concerned. 

Because of our societal influences, we most often are inclined to make choices and act based on a competitive mind.  This comes from the perspective of lack, scarcity, and ultimately greed.

Any opportunity based on the model of competition and lack will simply not pass the test.  Competition promotes strife.  It embodies winning one spot, taking it away from all the other people who want it.  It misleads people to believing there is only one chance for success, when in reality there is plenty for all.

 

The competitive model encourages people to rely on a source outside of themselves to give them what they need.  This denies the power of their own ability to create what they want.  This narrow focus shows they are choosing to ignore the possibility of creating this opportunity in their own lives, instead of trying to win the spot from millions of others.

This simple testing technique takes us completely out of the competitive mind of greed, scarcity and lack.  It turns our thoughts and choices toward the positive, realizing there are opportunities we can take that can provide increase for all concerned.

I invite you to use these questions to test your actions and opportunities in your life.  If you are seeking opportunity, these questions may help you see things in a different way.  In doing this, perhaps you might find an opportunity in your life which truly allows you to benefit the world, while at the same time reaching whatever your dreams, goals, and desires are.
